SAMMY AND TOBY KEITH’S
ROCK & ROLL ROAD TRIP WEEKEND
“I spent the weekend with Toby Keith in Oklahoma for the new season of Sammy’s Rock & Roll Road Trip – had a blast with the interview, playing some songs, driving around in a ’73 Oldsmobile cutlass convertible. One of my favorite episodes, can’t wait!
P.S.: Warriors game was happening and check out my hat! #DubNation #Warriors #BayAreaUnite
This is the car I bought Toby when he recorded that song called “Stays In Mexico” where one of the verses mentions the Cabo Wabo Cantina.
We took a look at this beauty and went for a ride to the OK Kids Korral facility Toby built in Oklahoma City for children receiving cancer treatments.
It’s right across the street from the hospital where the kids and their parents can stay for free while they recover or have a treatment sometimes staying for month at a time. We stopped by to talk to some kids the night before we did the shoot for Rock & Roll Road Trip and it was awesome.” – Sammy
“This was my first solo record and I was so excited to be able to do whatever I wanted in the studio. I was really into Van Morrison at the time and more about being a singer/songwriter than a front man in a metal band likeMontrose.
Looking back, it was a disjointed record, but I had some great players on there: Jerry Shirley from Humble Pie, Aynsley Dunbar from Bowie and later Journey, and of course none other than Bill “The Electric” Church, and even Jimmy Hodder from Steely Dan. “Keep on Rockin‘” ended up in the movie “The Rose” with Bette Midler about Janis Joplin, but the album failed to do very well. It was my first album to be taken out of print – because of a management change Capital Records had to stop promoting the record to prevent a lawsuit.
I immediately went back in the studio to record the Red album, which was my first gold solo record. “Silver Lights” has got to be my favorite song on “Nine On A Ten Scale“.
Ps: The title was an earthquake calculation, not my scoring of the album! Haha!” – Sammy
Finally, we asked all of you on Facebook to share your favorite classic concert T-shirts from throughout the years! We loved seeing all of your responses from young & old alike.
We all remember wearing a concert shirt to work or school the day after a show as the mark of a true fan. Those shirts might be ragged (or even framed) by now, but we want to see you all-time favorites! Share yours on the Facebook thread and tag with#FavMusicTee

El Paseo continues to up the ante with fantastic food and wine selections from around the world. It’s an experience unlike any other!
Just this week, the Mill Valley restaurant unveiled its latest menu, filled with seasonal selections and new indulgences all around: salads, cheese, pork & more.
I did Jay Leno’s garage all day today (May 14th) with the “I Can’t Drive 55” 1984 512 Boxer that was used in the video. What a blast!!
We had police escorts to block off the road so we could do some fun driving. I can’t wait to see this episode. Most fun I’ve had driving in a long time wooo hoo!!! You guys can’t imagine what a thrill it was to see Jay Leno driving my BB 512 Ferrari as a passenger!! One of the highlights of my driving experiences!
