Canterbury Fayre festival

A fairy tale

Fairies, Wizards and car alarms.

This is one of the best days of my life and is really hard to explain. a whole lot of magic I say. The Canterbury Fayre festival is near the east coast of the U.K near the cliffs of Dover. Me and my friends arrived just in time for Ratdog's set at the festival. As we arrive we see our friends from America that all have made the journey. It's a Picturesque day, on a big hill by a castle, with fairies and Djinns all that. We make our way to our favorite spots. You could feel the magic in the air as the band takes the stage. Ratdog plays a sweet jam that flows into a dazzling daytime Jack Straw, Which takes flight into Bird Song. I thought I heard a Dark Star lick thrown in that leads to Cassidy. Mark Karan has a nice solo that turns into a Eleven plus minute version of Little Red Rooster. Kenny Brooks sure blows the rooster good. Not one of my favorite songs but never really realized everyone gets a good solo on this song even bobby on the slide. As they slide into Two Djinn one of my favorites songs. Jeff Chementi opens it with a jazzy funk right into its hypnotic grove. That steps into Mississippi Half Step. Bobby opens up the sky a little on this song. The music takes over into The Other One Jay lane putting down the beat as the band joins around him. The music circling and spinning as bobby sings the few lyrics before the song takes off. As Lady with a Fan starts then takes a walks into Terrapin Station which leads to At a Siding into an unbelievable Terrapin Flyer. At the end of is a funky jam into a wonderful Dear Prudance, from there back to Bird Song then back into Cassidy to end the set. The encore is Touch of Grey. A great Festival set. It's like 5 PM and still time to get something to eat drink and shop a little with a new friend. So we say hi to all the Americans from over seas and go wandering. First we wonder by a castle and a beautiful garden and chat about things. We go shopping in a medieval times atmosphere. I think if there are any shoplifters here they probably cut off their hands. We meet up with another friend and have a bite to eat and a couple Stellas(beer). We wander back to our friends car who drove us to put away our recent purchases and go back to enjoy the festival.  This is where the strange twist to the story starts. Are friends car is a newer Audi to open and close the car its all done by buttons on a remote. Being the intelligent gents that we are, we open the vehicle, then the trunk, and put our newly acquired goods away. When we go to leave we cannot lock the car. We did not want to concern the owner of the car because he was taking photos of the band Love. So we decided to sit by the vehicle and wait it out. My other friend leaves to get a start on the next day we say bye for now. My other friend went and purchased another six pack of Stella and we chatted and waited for our friend to arrive. What we did not realize is that there were people sleeping all around us. We were laughing and having fun talking getting to know each other. When I realize we must have woke up at least ten cars. You could see the heads popping up all around us. We get into a political discussion with a young lady we woke up. Finally are friend arrives we tell him the dilemma he pushes the hidden button and it locks. Now the three of us go to find the the house his friend let him use for the night. We find the house but it's locked from the inside. It is totally dark outside we are tring to open the door when we hear a woman's voice. Feeling really bad not knowing she was there she comes and greets us as we were old friends. Wanting to clean things up for us and make us coffee or tea. Not wanting to impose we all find our way to bed to end a magical day. I want to thank that woman for all her hospitality and I apologize for waking her up in the middle of the night. Thank you for you kindness.
